Vets on the Meowve South Downs was created to bring calm, convenient, high-quality veterinary care to pets and their owners across the South Downs and surrounding areas.
Led by Cristina Mihail MRCVS and Ioana Cafrita DVM MRCVS CertAVP(ECC), two experienced Veterinary Surgeons with a shared passion for personalised, stress-free care, this branch was inspired by their belief that pets receive the best care when they feel safe, calm and comfortable in their own environment.
With experience across general practice, surgery, emergency and critical care, Cristina and Ioana bring together clinical expertise with compassion, patience and a dedication to understanding each pet’s individual needs.
Supporting Cristina and Ioana is Jack, our Client Care & Operations Assistant, helping every visit run smoothly while ensuring both pets and their owners feel welcomed, supported and cared for.
Based in the South Downs, we proudly cover the surrounding areas with our trusted mobile veterinary service. If you’re unsure whether we visit your area, simply get in touch and we’ll be happy to check your postcode.
Our mission is simple — exceptional veterinary care, delivered with heart.
I have always believed the best veterinary care happens when pets feel safe, calm and understood. Throughout my career in both general practice and emergency veterinary medicine, I have seen how stressful a traditional clinic environment can be for many animals and how important a gentle, patient approach is.
My experience caring for pets with a wide range of medical and surgical conditions has shown me that excellent care combines clinical expertise with compassion and a true understanding of each pet’s individual needs.
I am passionate about home-based veterinary care because it allows pets to remain relaxed in familiar surroundings while giving me a better insight into their behaviour, routines and wellbeing.
Building trusting relationships with owners is at the heart of how I practise. By listening, understanding concerns and working together, my goal is to provide calm, personalised veterinary care where pets feel happiest — at home.
I have been a veterinary surgeon since 2011, with over 15 years of experience across general practice and Emergency and Critical Care. Throughout my career, I have supported pets and their families through a wide range of situations, including some of their most challenging moments.
I am an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Emergency and Critical Care and hold a BSAVA Postgraduate Certificate in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care. My experience also includes specialist training, mentoring veterinary students, co-founding the Romanian Emergency and Critical Care Society (RoVECCS), and helping establish Romania’s first canine blood bank.
My career has shown me the importance of trust, communication and truly listening to owners. I believe every pet is unique, and understanding their personality, routine and home life is key to providing the best care.
Through home visits, I can offer calm, compassionate and personalised veterinary care where pets feel safest — at home.
