Vets on the Meowve South Downs was created to bring calm, convenient, high-quality veterinary care to pets and their owners across the South Downs and surrounding areas.
Led by Cristina Mihail MRCVS and Ioana Cafrita DVM MRCVS CertAVP(ECC), two experienced Veterinary Surgeons with a shared passion for personalised, stress-free care, this branch was inspired by their belief that pets receive the best care when they feel safe, calm and comfortable in their own environment.
With experience across general practice, surgery, emergency and critical care, Cristina and Ioana bring together clinical expertise with compassion, patience and a dedication to understanding each pet’s individual needs.
Supporting Cristina and Ioana is Jack, our Client Care & Operations Assistant, helping every visit run smoothly while ensuring both pets and their owners feel welcomed, supported and cared for.
Based in the South Downs, we proudly cover the surrounding areas with our trusted mobile veterinary service. If you’re unsure whether we visit your area, simply get in touch and we’ll be happy to check your postcode.
Our mission is simple — exceptional veterinary care, delivered with heart.
I have always believed the best veterinary care happens when pets feel safe, calm and understood. Throughout my career in both general practice and emergency veterinary medicine, I have seen how stressful a traditional clinic environment can be for many animals, particularly cats, senior pets and those who are naturally anxious.
My journey into veterinary medicine began at the age of five when I decided I wanted to become a veterinarian, and that ambition never changed. With over 15 years of experience as a veterinary surgeon and a further 5 years as a veterinary nurse, I have cared for a wide range of medical and surgical cases. I have particular interests in dentistry and surgery and was proud to help establish Romania’s first canine blood bank alongside Ioana and a close group of colleagues.
I am passionate about home-based veterinary care, providing calm, personalised care where pets feel happiest, at home.
I believe every pet is unique, and that understanding their personality, routine and home environment is key to providing the best possible care. Throughout my career, I have seen how much calmer and more comfortable pets can be when cared for in familiar surroundings, creating a better experience for both pets and owners.
With 15 years of experience in both general practice and emergency veterinary medicine, I have supported pets and their families through a wide range of situations, including some of their most challenging moments. As an RCVS Advanced Practitioner in Emergency and Critical Care, I have a particular interest in caring for seriously ill patients and helping owners navigate difficult decisions with confidence and support. I was also proud to help establish Romania’s first canine blood bank alongside Cristina and a close group of colleagues.
My goal is simple: to provide veterinary care with kindness, honesty and compassion, helping pets stay healthy and happy at home.
Jack is often the friendly voice on the end of the phone and one of the first faces clients will meet when interacting with Vets on the Meowve.
Working behind the scenes and out on the road with the team, Jack helps coordinate appointments, supports the day to day running of the practice and assists with patient care where appropriate. His background is in hospitality, health and wellbeing, where he spent many years helping people feel welcomed, supported and cared for.
A lifelong animal lover and pet owner, Jack understands the important role pets play in our families and is passionate about helping create a calm, friendly and compassionate experience for both pets and their owners.
